Maia S. Merin

Maia S. Merin is an experienced education leader currently serving as the Associate Director of Coaching Performance at Great Minds, where leadership involves overseeing a team of internal coaches to facilitate over 10,000 professional development sessions annually. Previously, Maia held the position of National Director of Professional Development, Humanities, at the same organization, and served as Director of Clinical Faculty for Urban Teachers at Johns Hopkins University School of Education. With a foundation in teaching that includes roles as an instructor and adjunct faculty at various universities, Maia has contributed to curriculum design and professional development focused on equity in education. An advocate for diverse and inclusive teaching practices, Maia holds a Ph.D. in Teaching and Learning from New York University, complemented by degrees in Social Studies Education from Brooklyn College and History from Wesleyan University.
