Culture Editor For Europe at Guardian Media Group

Philip Oltermann is an accomplished journalist currently serving as the Culture editor for Europe at The Guardian since June 2009, with previous roles including Berlin bureau chief, deputy editor for Opinion, and special supplements editor. Philip has also worked at Zembla magazine as deputy editor from September 2004 to December 2006. Philip's academic background includes a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature and German from the University of Oxford, a Master's Degree in European Culture Studies from UCL, and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Modern Languages from Queen Mary University of London. Educational experiences also include attendance at Hampton School and Gymnasium Heidberg.
