Margaret Panatera

Margaret is an Associate Principal, holds the roles of District Office Manager and group leader for EHS/Regulatory Compliance in GZA's Chicago office, and currently serves on GZA's Board of Directors. She has over 18 years of experience in environmental engineering, with a focus on regulatory compliance and site investigation/remediation applications. She holds a degree in Civil Engineering with Environmental Emphasis from Bradley University and is a registered Professional Engineer in Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, and Nebraska. Her client base varies across architecture and engineering, industrial, institutional, municipal, and state government sectors.

She has drafted and reviewed multiple wastewater construction and NPDES permit applications and assisted clients in fulfilling permit special conditions through modeling, sampling, and reporting. Margaret has written and reviewed dozens of SPCC and SWPPP plans, and she assists industrial and institutional clients with routine environmental and community-right-to-know compliance reporting. She has prepared, reviewed, and executed site investigation plans and remediation plans for soil and groundwater contamination through voluntary and mandated programs in Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, Nebraska, and Texas.

Her professional affiliations include the American Council of Engineering Companies of Illinois and the Chemical Industry Council of Illinois (CICI), and she currently chairs the Associates’ Committee for CICI, working with association staff to plan technical seminars for membership.
