SKILLS

  • The ability to adapt to the work environment (fast-paced environment, weather changes, small spaces, etc…)

  • The ability to work independently, read blueprints, read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines

  • The ability to receive and follow instructions from one’s superintendent, as well as effectively communicate with your co-workers

  • The ability to lift 50lbs or more

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check

  • Certified Journeyman Plumber with 2 years of experience

  • Possess the knowledge of various plumbing aspects (underground, over-head rough setting fixtures, water supply and drainage, gas, piping, and other plumbing systems)

  • The ability to travel as needed (not optional)

  • Knowledge of plumbing codes and regulations

  • Possess the knowledge and ability to operate equipment and tools of the trade

  • Structured and organized leadership skills

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Install, repair, and maintain pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures (such as sinks, toilets, and water heaters) in commercial structures

  • Collaborate with general contractors, electricians, and other professionals during construction

  • Perform routine inspections of plumbing and drainage systems, identifying and diagnosing plumbing problems using appropriate tools and techniques

  • Keep accurate records of time spent working, description of work performed, and materials used

  • Adhere to all plumbing building codes and regulations

  • Ensure all work meets safety standards and follows best practices

  • Must be detail-oriented, have a positive attitude, and be able to work as part of a team

  • Review blueprints, drawings, building codes, and specifications to determine work details and procedures

  • Ensuring the quality and timeliness of installed pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, appliances, and fixtures while using hand and power tools

  • Train and manage less experience plumbers and achieve significant improvements in their productivity

  • Pipe fitting, soldering, brazing

  • The ability to install copper, PVC piping and set fixtures

  • The ability to cut, thread, fit pipes, valves, and caulking

  • Experience in commercial plumbing such as corporate offices, dining establishments, and educational institutions, and federal contracts

  • Be able to level earth to fine grade specifications using picks, shovels, and mix concrete
