The mission of the Harris County Toll Road Authority (HCTRA) is to responsibly operate and maintain a safe, reliable, sustainable, and evolving mobility system that meets the diverse connectivity needs of all Harris County residents.

- HCTRA will deliver mobility solutions that create value for customers and the community by incorporating stakeholder collaboration throughout planning, development, and implementation.
- HCTRA will strengthen the region’s economic vitality by improving mobility for all with safe and efficient mobility solutions throughout Harris County.

The HCTRA system consists of more than 128 miles of roadway throughout Harris County, as well as the historic Washburn Tunnel and Lynchburg Ferry. As of March 2021, there are 2.2 million active EZ TAG accounts representing more than 5 million active EZ TAGs.

The Information Technology Team at the Harris County Toll Road Authority (HCTRA) is responsible for ensuring the seamless operation and continual advancement of the organization's technology infrastructure. This team manages and supports essential IT systems, oversees cybersecurity measures, develops and tests software applications, and provides technical support across all levels. Additionally, they implement network solutions and voice systems, manage IT projects and portfolios, and leverage Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to optimize toll road operations and connectivity for Harris County residents.
