Maria Dueñas Lopez has a diverse background in community engagement, legal support, and public affairs. Currently serving as a Program Associate at Health Resources in Action since July 2022, Maria has previously held roles including Immigration Court Paralegal at Flora Legal Group and Community Organizer at Faith in Indiana. Maria's experience also includes work with the Truth Initiative’s Community and Youth Engagement Team, and a public affairs internship at the OECD. As Community Outreach Coordinator at the Indiana Department of Health, Maria participated in key advocacy efforts, including testifying before a legislative committee. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis and current studies towards a Master's in Theological Studies at Harvard Divinity School. Notably, research conducted as an undergraduate was recognized at the American Educational Research Association’s annual meeting.
