Paulo Van Breugel is a lecturer at HAS University of Applied Sciences since August 2017 and has been a freelance consultant with Ecodiv.earth since November 2013. Previously, Paulo served as a PhD researcher at the University of Copenhagen from October 2010 to July 2016, focusing on natural vegetation distribution and conservation in eastern Africa in collaboration with the World Agroforestry Centre. From January 2004 to September 2010, Paulo worked as a freelance consultant for various organizations, including Bioversity International and the International Livestock Research Institute. A brief tenure as a visiting scientist at Imazon in 2003 involved establishing baseline data for sustainable forest management in Brazil. Paulo held the position of associate scientist with Bioversity International from 1997 to 2003 in roles based in Brazil and Syria. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. from the University of Copenhagen and a master’s degree from Wageningen University & Research.
