Florian Markert

Florian Markert is an experienced leader in the field of R&D, currently serving as the Director of R&D Smart Sensor Electronics at HBK - Hottinger Brüel & Kjær since January 2019. In this role, Florian leads an international team focused on integrating smart capabilities into the sensor portfolio while maintaining existing products. Previously, Florian held positions including Head of Center of Excellence Instruments & Sensors and Director Embedded Software, overseeing large teams and improving quality measures. Florian's earlier experience includes roles at Hottinger Baldwin Messtechnik GmbH, flexOptix GmbH, Gearomat GmbH, and Technische Universität Darmstadt, where responsibilities ranged from project management to research. Florian holds a Dr.-Ing. in Software-Product-Lines and Requirements-Engineering and a Dipl.-Ing. in Electrical and Information Engineering, both from Technische Universität Darmstadt.
