Khalid Mentak

Khalid (Kal) Mentak, PhD, has extensive experience in the medical device and biotechnology sectors, currently serving as a Board Member at HCP Cureblindness since March 2019, and a Venture Partner at Zühlke Group since January 2019. Additionally, Khalid is the Chairman of the Board at ClearSight, focusing on the development of next-generation ophthalmic implants. Further contributions include being a Board Member at Advance International, Inc. and previously serving as President and CEO of Tenon Medical, Inc., where a minimally invasive sacroiliac joint fusion procedure was developed to alleviate chronic back pain. Khalid also co-founded and led multiple companies, including Key Medical Technologies, Inc. and Adoptics AG, and pioneered innovations like the first FDA-approved glistenings-free intraocular lens. Khalid holds a PhD in Materials Sciences, Engineering, and Bioengineering from the University of Florida.
