Jay Parmar currently advises on competence matters for the built environment industry as part of the Industry Competence Committee at the Health and Safety Executive since August 2023. Also in August 2023, Jay became a Leadership Fellow at the Society of Leadership Fellows at St George's House, Windsor Castle. Jay serves as Chief Executive of The Joint Industry Board for the Electrical Contracting Industry, Chairman of the CSCS Alliance, and Director of The Electrotechnical Skills Partnership, roles held since 2019 and 2021, respectively. From 2016 to 2019, Jay was Chairman of the Legal Affairs Committee at Leaseurope and Vice Chairman of the Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership. Additionally, from 2000 to 2019, Jay was Director of Policy & Membership at BVRLA, focusing on policy work and industry representation. Early career experience includes a role in Compliance and Competition at Ofwat from 1997 to 2000. Jay holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of the West of England and has completed advanced management and postgraduate studies at Henley Business School and the University of Warwick.
