Lance C. Sommer

Lance Sommer brings years of extensive experience in scientific research and business expertise to HealthPro BioVentures. As part of the HealthPro team, Mr. Sommer is responsible for identifying new opportunities in the life science sectors, sourcing new clients, developing and maintaining client relationships, and helping to raise capital.

As a researcher, Mr. Sommer worked at the renowned cancer biology laboratory at The Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. He published his thesis on ubiquitin signaling and its affect on cell cycle progression, signal transduction, and tumor suppression. Mr. Sommer also completed research in Neurobiology at Stony Brook University, working to slow and cure the process of retinal degeneration.

As a business professional, Mr. Sommer was recruited by Merrill Lynch as a Client Associate and Broker, where he earned his FINRA licenses and worked closely with clients to maintain their retirement, trusts, and brokerage accounts. Following his tenure at Merrill Lynch he was recruited as a research analyst by LifeSci Advisors to write and publish sell-side equity research reports on companies covered by LifeSci in the life sciences sector.
