Hendrik-Jan Smaal

Hendrik-Jan Smaal is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in information technology and digital transformation. Currently serving as Chief Digital Officer and CIO at Heijmans since July 2010, Hendrik-Jan previously held the position of Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the Benelux region at E.ON from December 2007 to July 2010. Earlier roles include Chief Information Officer at Royal HaskoningDHV and Programme Manager for outsourcing ICT, as well as Programme Director for e-business and Manager of the ICT Department at Tebodin Consultants & Engineers. Hendrik-Jan has further enhanced professional knowledge through esteemed educational programs at Duisenberg School of Finance, Stanford University Graduate School of Business, and IMD, complemented by a Bachelor of Science degree in Information and Automation from The Hague University of Applied Sciences.
