Anthony Boucher is an accomplished leader in transportation and statistics, currently serving as the Director of Highways and Strategic Operations at Hertfordshire County Council since September 2019. In this role, Anthony manages a budget exceeding £120 million and provides strategic advice on operational highways matters. Prior to this position, Anthony held multiple senior leadership roles at the Department for Transport, including Deputy Director of Local Infrastructure, where the management of a £2 billion budget involved oversight of national policy on highways maintenance and major local transport projects. Additional responsibilities included leading significant reforms in traffic management regulations and enhancing statistical standards as Head of Statistics. Anthony's earlier career features roles as Chief Statistician at Ofsted and Statistician at the UK Home Office, where innovative survey work advanced understanding of minority ethnic health issues. Anthony holds a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics and Biology from Trent Polytechnic (Nottingham Trent University).
