Emily Ianacone

Emily Ianacone is a seasoned design professional currently serving as the Senior Advisor for Design at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, focusing on simplifying the federal grant application process. In parallel, Emily works as an Adjunct Professor at the Maryland Institute College of Art, leading an intensive product accelerator course for design and business students. Previous roles include Director of Government Transformation and Deputy Director at the City of Baltimore's Mayor’s Office, where responsibilities encompassed leading multidisciplinary innovation teams and fostering citizen-centered policies. Other professional experiences include positions at Foster America, the White House Presidential Innovation Fellows, the Johns Hopkins Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality, and various teaching roles in design.
