Senior Insights Researcher at High Performance Sport New Zealand

Fiona Watson is an experienced professional in sports performance analysis, currently serving as a Senior Insights Researcher at High Performance Sport New Zealand since October 2017. Previous roles within the organization include Performance & Technique Analyst and Performance Science Assistant. Fiona began their career as a Performance Analysis Research and Teaching Assistant at Otago Polytechnic and worked as a Head GPS Analyst for the Highlanders Super Rugby Franchise, where Fiona provided crucial GPS data for player performance monitoring. Additional experience includes internships with the Southern Steel and Otago Rugby Football Union, and involvement with the Sunshine Coast Lightning's performance analysis team. Fiona holds a Master's degree in Professional Practice (Sports Performance Analysis) from Cardiff Metropolitan University, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Science from Otago Polytechnic, and a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education from the University of Otago, along with a Certificate in High Performance Sport.
