Alexey Kirmasov

Alexey Kirmasov serves as the Head of Project Generation Department at Highland Gold Mining Ltd since December 2021, following an extensive career in geology and exploration. Previously, Kirmasov held various roles at Kazzinc from June 2015 to October 2021, including Chief Geologist of the Exploration Department. Earlier experience includes positions as Chief Geologist at First Mining and Exploration Company LLC, and significant roles at Polyus Gold, including Head of Regional Projects Department. Starting as a Project Geologist at Barrick Gold Corporation, Kirmasov has made contributions to gold prospecting and exploration in the Russian Far East. Kirmasov's academic background encompasses a PhD in Structural Geology and Tectonics from Moscow State University, coupled with research roles in tectonophysics and diamond geology, alongside teaching responsibilities in geology-related courses.
