Derrick Chan

Derrick Chan is a seasoned professional in the rail and transit sector, currently serving as Vice President of Rail & Transit at Hill International, Inc., where responsibilities include managing significant projects across North America. Previously, as the Northern California Rail & Transit Lead at Mott MacDonald, Derrick established relationships with local transit agencies and successfully secured a key contract with Caltrain. Derrick's extensive experience includes serving as the Director of Rail & Capital Programs for Broward County Government, overseeing multimillion-dollar rail initiatives, and contributing as a Sr. Project Engineer at Parsons Corporation for Florida's first modern streetcar project. Derrick's career began with roles at the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency as a Civil Engineer, focusing on rail and transit projects, and earlier positions at Caltrans and Sverdrup Engineering as a transportation engineer. Derrick holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from San José State University and an Associate of Science from City College of San Francisco.
