Christy Lai is a seasoned design professional and entrepreneur with extensive experience in creative technology, product design, and transdisciplinary studio management. As Co-founder and Design Director of Chess Club, Christy promotes a unique blend of visual cultures, while also serving as Head of Creative Technology at HILOS, focusing on sustainable footwear innovation through digital manufacturing and generative AI. Christy founded Color Bureau, a transdisciplinary studio, and Batboy Slim, a curated cannabis experience collaborating with emerging artists. Previous roles include Design Director and Product Designer at Constellation Network, Interaction Designer at Steelcase, and Founder of Memex and Colorcubic™, where Christy specialized in product design, branding, and interactive solutions for diverse clients. Christy's educational background includes studies at Oregon State University and Otis College of Art and Design.
