Erika Diaz Petersen

Principal National Landscape Adviser at Historic England

Erika Diaz Petersen is an accomplished landscape architect and heritage consultant with extensive experience in landscape advising and conservation. Currently serving as the Principal National Landscape Adviser at Historic England since July 2020, Erika has previously held significant roles such as Associate Landscape Consultant at Chris Blandford Associates and Heritage at Risk Landscape Architect in both the East Midlands and Yorkshire at Historic England. Erika founded Erika Diaz Petersen Landscape Design and Conservation, working as a Chartered Landscape Architect and Historic Landscape Consultant from December 2012 to December 2018. Earlier career highlights include positions at Hilary Taylor Landscape Associates Ltd and The University of Sheffield as a Teaching Fellow in the Department of Archaeology. Erika holds multiple degrees, including an MSc in Archaeomaterials from The University of Sheffield and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from New York University.
