Vincent Holyoak is an experienced professional in the field of conservation, currently serving as the Head of Rural, Environmental Management at Historic England since February 2012. With over 30 years in the sector, Vincent Holyoak manages the Rural team within the Policy Development Department and acts as the primary liaison between the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and the Department of Culture, Media and Sport concerning rural land use and heritage. Prior to this role, Vincent Holyoak held various positions at English Heritage from 1996 to 2012, including Head of National Rural & Environmental Advice and Senior National Rural & Environmental Adviser. Earlier experience includes a role as Monuments Protection Programme Archaeologist at Leicester City Council from 1993 to 1996, and work as an Arts Worker in the Living History Unit. Vincent Holyoak holds a PhD in The Neolithic and Bronze Age Ceremonial Monuments of Cornwall and a Bachelor of Arts in Archaeology, both obtained from the University of Nottingham.
