Colin Smith

Colin Smith is an experienced professional in the field of crash engineering, currently serving as the Head of Crash at HORIBA MIRA since April 2011, where responsibilities include managing the Crash Test Facility and leading both the Crash Engineering Team and Crash Technician Team. Prior to this role, Colin held positions such as Crash Team Leader at MIRA Ltd, Senior Restraint Systems Analysis Engineer at Semcon, and Restraint Systems Analysis Engineer at Autoliv, contributing to various automotive safety projects and international collaborations. Colin began the career as a Crash Test Engineer at TRL, specializing in Euro NCAP protocols. Educational qualifications include a BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from Coventry University and a BTec National Diploma in Motor Vehicle Engineering from North Lindsey College.
