Aaron Matthews

Aaron Matthews possesses extensive experience in Aboriginal strategy and engagement, currently serving as Manager of Aboriginal Strategy & Engagement at Horizon Power since January 2020. Previous roles include Traditional Owner Engagement Lead and Aboriginal Engagement Advisor at Horizon Power, as well as various positions at Curtin University, such as Program Coordinator for Indigenous Community Management & Development and Lecturer from 2012 to 2020. Aaron's career began as a Project Officer at the State Library of Queensland in 2011 and included a role as Associate Lecturer at Curtin University. Aaron holds a Master of Education focused on Indigenous higher education from Murdoch University and a Bachelor of Applied Science with Honours in Indigenous Community Management and Development from Curtin University. Education was completed at Mount Isa State High School.
