Judy Fleischman is a seasoned chaplain and mindfulness educator with extensive experience in providing spiritual care and promoting community resilience. Currently serving as a chaplain at Hospice East Bay and a board member and facilitator at the Mindful Peacebuilding Institute, Fleischman has significantly contributed to developing mindfulness-based programs and bereavement gatherings. Past roles include serving as a Zen priest and practice leader at Berkeley Zen Center, initiating a mindfulness care program at The Bay School of San Francisco, and pioneering tele-chaplaincy palliative care at Evernorth Health Services. Fleischman holds multiple degrees, including a Bachelor of Arts in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Master of Divinity from APC. Combined with a commitment to fostering inclusive spiritual care, Fleischman founded the Center for Open Chaplaincy and has been instrumental in integrating mindfulness and expressive arts therapies into chaplaincy practices.
