Yvonne Smith

Yvonne Smith is an accomplished violist and music educator, currently performing with the Lyra Baroque Orchestra since August 2021 and serving as the Founder and Artistic Director of La Speranza since October 2016. With extensive experience as a professional musician and teacher since 2009, Yvonne performs modern and historical viola across Texas and the United States while also teaching violin and viola in multiple locations in Houston. Additional performance engagements include the BACH SOCIETY HOUSTON, Ars Lyrica Houston, Grant Park Music Festival, Houston Symphony, Houston Ballet, Houston Grand Opera, and Christ the King Presbyterian Church. Yvonne holds a Master of Music and a Bachelor of Music in Viola Performance from Rice University and graduated from the Baltimore School for the Arts.
