Devery Manier Jr, CDR, currently serves as the University Relations Program Lead at Howard Hughes Medical Institute, a position held since January 2024. As a producer and talent for the thatblackboyjoy podcast since January 2019, Devery focuses on breaking down barriers for black boys. Previously, Devery worked as the Program Manager for the Leadership Institute at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation from January 2022 to January 2024, contributing to the organization's mission to improve socioeconomic circumstances for African Americans and underserved communities. Devery also held the role of Site Manager at Reach Incorporated from September 2019 to January 2022, where responsibilities included recruiting and maintaining high school participants. Prior experiences include Program and Communications Manager at FH Faunteroy Community Enrichment Center and an Americorps Member at City Year Washington, DC. Devery holds a Bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Bowling Green State University.
