Nephi Walton

Nephi Walton currently serves as a Program Officer at the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) since April 2024. Previously, Nephi co-founded and partnered at BRAINSPIN from 2010 to April 2024, and held the position of Associate Medical Director of Precision Genomics at Intermountain Healthcare from April 2020 to May 2023. Nephi was also the Chair of the Genomics and Translational Bioinformatics Working Group at the American Medical Informatics Association from January 2021 to January 2023, and an Assistant Professor of Genomic Medicine at Geisinger Health between June 2017 and March 2020. Education includes a Doctor of Medicine (MD) and a Master of Science in Biomedical Informatics from the University of Utah School of Medicine, along with a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Utah. Nephi's early career involved roles as President at Biovere and Director of Multimedia at Virtual Anatomy, focusing on the development of 3D anatomical software and applications.
