Tamika M Thurston is a Senior Policy and Practice Advisor at ICF since April 2020, providing expert policy analysis and strategic planning to address disproportionality and inequity in the child welfare system. In prior roles, Tamika served as a State/Territory Liaison and an International Trainer at David Mandel & Associates, delivering trainings and keynote presentations on domestic violence intervention. Experience also includes roles as a Quality Advisor/Program Coordinator at CREC, where strategies were developed for at-risk students, and as a Domestic Violence Consultant for Wheeler Clinic, where supervision and training were provided to staff. Previous positions included supporting adjudicated youth as a Youth Employment Specialist at Connecticut Junior Republic and advocating for domestic violence victims at Interval House. Tamika holds a Master of Arts in Public Policy with a focus on Urban Policy from Trinity College-Hartford and a Bachelor of Science in Human Services from Springfield College.
