Exceptional class general engineer (X 1973, ENPC 1978) began his career in 1978 at the Department of Roads and Road Traffic of the Ministry of Equipment. In 1982, he joined the DDE of Ille-et-Vilaine, appointed in 1986 deputy director of transport and traffic at the Regional Council of Île-de-France, he became in 1989, deputy of the DDE of Guadeloupe, then of the Côte d'Or. Appointed DDE of Orne in 1994, he joined the personnel and services department of the Ministry of Equipment in 1997, he was then appointed DRDE of Haute-Normandie in 2002. Adviser for social dialogue in the office of the Keeper of the Seals in 2005, he became Managing Director of Voies Navigables de France (VNF) in 2007. In 2010, he was president of the 3rd section of the CGEDD then, in October of the same year.
