Dr. Elizabeth Titi Uvoh-Gardner is a 1976 graduate of Microbiology from the University of Benin. Thereafter, she proceeded to the United Kingdom and obtained MSc. in Food Engineering and Management Science from Kings College, University of London in 1978. She later returned to Nigeria for her NYSC and served at the University of Benin, between 1980 and 1981. She lectured at University of Benin from 1981 to 1993 in the Department of Microbiology, rising to become Senior Lecturer.
She left back to the UK on Sabbatical and got employed at the Nigerian High Commission, London where she worked as Research Officer.
Thereafter she returned to Nigeria once again in 2003 when she got appointed Special Adviser to the Delta State Governor on Science and Higher Education. Whilst serving as Special Adviser, she enrolled for the doctorate degree at the Department of Microbiology University of Benin (her Alma Mata) and bagged a Ph.D in Environmental Microbiology.
By 2007 she was appointed Commissioner for Education, a position she held until 2010.
Between 2012 and 2014, she was again privileged to be appointed into the Federal Board of the Lower Benue River Basin Development Authority. In June 2014, she was appointed Technical Assistant to the Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), a position she held until 2016. In April 2021 Dr. Elizabeth Uvoh-Gardner was appointed Member of the Governing Council of the University of Lagos, Akoka, Yaba, Lagos.
It is pertinent to mention that Dr. Elizabeth Titi Uvoh-Gardner has published severally acclaimed books as well as articles in widely read international journals.
