The Illinois Supreme Court, in addition to being the state’s highest court, is responsible for the state’s unified trial court, one appellate court with five districts, and several supporting units. General administrative and supervisory authority over the court system is vested in the Supreme Court. 

The Illinois Supreme Court is committed to improving access to the Illinois courts and making sure we serve the public as effectively, efficiently, and expeditiously as possible.

The Judicial Support Team at the Illinois Supreme Court provides critical research, analysis, and clerical support to the justices. This includes preparing legal memoranda, drafting opinions, conducting thorough legal research, and assisting with case management to ensure efficient and effective adjudication and administrative operations of the court.
