Healthy Families Eastern Oregon Program Manager at Immigrant & Refugee Community Organization

Shannon Armstrong has a diverse range of work experience spanning over several years. Most recently, they worked as the Healthy Families Program Manager/Supervisor at the Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization, where they managed program funding and a team of family support specialists. Shannon also maintained accreditation with Healthy Families America and Oregon Maternal Infant and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) programs.

Prior to that, Shannon worked as the School Testing Coordinator/Paraprofessional at Ontario School District 8-C, where they collaborated with school and district personnel to organize testing schedules and input student scores. Shannon also independently conducted intervention testing for 60 students.

Shannon has experience working in early childhood education as an Early Childhood Teacher at Giggles and Grace, where they developed lesson plans aligned with TS Gold Standards and tailored to each student's educational needs.

Shannon also worked as a Paraprofessional at Vale Elementary School, where they assisted in testing children and taught reading. Additionally, Shannon has entrepreneurial experience as the owner of a mobile/online boutique, where they successfully managed sales and utilized bookkeeping software.

Furthermore, Shannon served as the Food Service Manager/Consumer Science Teacher at Treasure Valley Christian School, where they created monthly menus, cooked for a large number of people, and managed a kitchen staff.

In their earlier years, Shannon worked as a nanny, providing care and teaching early learning skills to children. Shannon also gained experience as a barista at Moxie Java and Robinsons-May, where they delivered excellent customer service and maintained a clean work environment.

Shannon Armstrong holds a Bachelor's degree in Applied Behavioral Science from The University of Arizona Global Campus, which they obtained from 2019 to 2021. Prior to that, they completed an Associate of Arts degree in Psychology at Treasure Valley Community College from 2000 to 2002.

In addition to their formal education, Shannon has obtained various certifications and completed training programs. Shannon has been trained in the Great Kids Curriculum P-36mo program by Great Kids, which they achieved in October 2021. Shannon also completed the Dare to Lead program and obtained the Conflict Resolution certification (CONRES1001) from Sophia Learning in May and April 2021, respectively.

Shannon has additional certifications and training in various areas. These include Introduction to Information Technology (CS1001), Developing Effective Teams (BUS1200), and The Essentials of Managing Conflict (CONRES1000) from Sophia Learning, which they obtained in January and December 2020. Shannon is also a CHAMP Mentoring Program graduate from the University of Arizona Global Campus, completing the program in October 2020.

Furthermore, Shannon holds the Oregon Registry Step 8 certification from the Oregon Center for Career Development, obtained in April 2019. Additionally, they have a Paraprofessional certification from the Malheur Education Service District, achieved in August 2018. Shannon has also completed the FORD Community Ambassador Trainer program and graduated from the FORD Institute Leadership program, both offered by the Ford Family Foundation in October 2016 and January 2015, respectively.

Lastly, Shannon has completed the Parents as Teachers Curriculum training program provided by the Parents as Teachers National Center in June 2021.
