Stephen Fitzgerald

Stephen is the Founder and Managing Partner of Affirmative Investment Management (AIM), a specialist impact fixed income manager. MetLife of New York has recently acquired AIM. He is also a member of the NSW Government Expert Advisory Panel for Sustainable Finance and serves as a board member of the Great Barrier Reef Foundation. He is also a member of the British Museum Investment Committee.

He was named an Officer in the Order of Australia (AO) in the 2019 Australia Day Honours for services to the Investment Management Industry and the Environment.

He previously served a five-year term as a member of the Board of Guardians of the Future Fund (Australia’s sovereign wealth fund) and served on the ASIC (Australian Securities and Investment Commission) Advisory Board. He also served on the board of the National Centre for Indigenous Excellence and on the board of QBE Insurance Group for seven years, chairing the Investment Committee and the People and Remuneration Committee.
