Murendeni Makhado

Murendeni Makhado is an experienced professional in environmental management and sustainability, currently serving as an Advisory Board Member at Future of Sustainability and a 2023 Mandela Washington Fellow with the Young African Leaders Initiative. Makhado has held significant roles at Implats since May 2018, including Corporate Water Specialist, Environmental Manager, and Environmental Superintendent. Prior experience includes Risk and Environmental Superintendent at Sappi and Environmental Officer at Anglo American, along with a Graduate Environmental Scientist position at NCC. Makhado holds an MBA in International Business from UCAM Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia, a Bachelor's in Environmental Sciences Honors from the University of Venda, and a BSc in Environmental and Geographical Sciences from the University of Cape Town. Currently, Makhado is pursuing further studies in Leadership in Business at the University of Nevada, Reno.
