Willem Odendaal

Willem Odendaal has extensive experience in the mining engineering sector, currently serving as Manager of Engineering: Shafts at Impala Platinum since November 2008, overseeing a diverse underground hard-rock mining environment with fifteen operational shafts. Previous roles at Impala Platinum included Senior Engineer and Operations Engineer for Fridge Plants, where responsibilities involved the design, installation, and maintenance of refrigeration systems across multiple shaft complexes. Prior to Impala Platinum, Willem held the position of Engineering Manager at Aquarius Platinum and served as Section Engineer at De Beers Consolidated Mines, focusing on various mining operations. Willem holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pretoria, obtained between 1993 and 1996.
