Born in Antakya in 1962, Erol Bilecik completed his primary, secondary, and high school education in Antakya. He graduated from Istanbul Technical University Computer Engineering Department in 1987 and became one of the first computer engineers in Turkey.
Erol Bilecik founded İndeks Bilgisayar AŞ in 1989 and led to the formation of Index Group companies, which today bring the products of more than 200 world technology brands to individual and corporate consumers in Turkey through more than 8,000 business partners.
Between 2002-2005, he was the President of TUBISAD (Turkish Informatics Industrialists and Businessmen Association) , one of the oldest non-governmental organizations in the Turkish computer industry, and of ITU Alumni Association between 2010-2014 . With the General Assembly held on February 20, 2019, he completed his duty as the Chairman of the Board of TÜSİAD (Turkish Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association), which he has been carrying out since 12 January 2017.
He became a Member of the Board of Fenerbahçe Sports Club on June 5, 2018. As of September 4, 2020, he continues to serve as the Deputy Chairman of Fenerbahçe Sports Club.
Erol Bilecik was awarded the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Distinguished Service Medal on 15 July 2010 for his support and contributions to the field of education.
