William Gervasio

William Gervasio is a dedicated computer science student at The University of British Columbia, expected to graduate in April 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Currently serving as a Directed Studies Student in Machine Learning & Bioinformatics at BC Cancer, William conducts research on Deep Learning and Bayesian methods, utilizing Python and various machine learning frameworks. Previous experience includes roles at UBC as a Senior Teaching Assistant and Course Lead, as well as software development positions at BlackBerry and insightsoftware, where William worked on automation and protocol upgrades. Additionally, involvement as Vice President External for the UBC Computer Science Student Society includes organizing tech career events and overseeing technical project teams. William's research experiences also encompass work at the Centre for Heart Lung Innovation and the Department of National Defence, highlighting a strong foundation in both theoretical knowledge and practical application in technology and bioinformatics.
