Denise Lam

Denise Lam is the Director at Instituto del Progreso Latino. Denise was previously the Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer at the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago from January 2017 to August 2020. In their role at the YMCA, Denise was responsible for overseeing the organization's finances, partnerships, contract negotiations, capital investments, and management training. Denise was also responsible for leading several initiatives that encompassed business development, marketing, technology, real estate, research and development (R&D), and facility management. Under Denise's leadership, the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago experienced a 25% growth in annual revenue. Additionally, Denise helped the organization double its geographic footprint through the acquisition of two new operations.

Denise Lam has a Master of Science from Springfield College in Human Services & Organizational Management & Leadership. Denise also has a Bachelor of Arts from Brigham Young University - Hawaii in Psychology. Additionally, they are a CEO Preparatory Inaugural Class graduate from YMCA of the USA and has completed the Next Level CEO Coaching program through the same organization. Denise Lam is also a Fellow Class of 2010 graduate from Leadership Greater Chicago and has completed the Multicultural Executive Development Institute from YMCA of the USA. Denise is certified as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from EMS Consulting Group, Inc. and as a Six Sigma: Black Belt from LinkedIn.
