Jesse Holcomb

Jesse Holcomb is an accomplished academic and data analyst with extensive experience in journalism, media, and nonprofit sectors. Currently serving as an Associate Professor at Calvin University since August 2017, Jesse teaches courses on journalism, audience analytics, media production, and communication, while also advising the student news organization, Chimes. Concurrently, Jesse has held the role of Data Analyst at the Institute for Nonprofit News since May 2018 and was the Principal Advisor for the Trust, Media, and Democracy research program at the Knight Foundation from January 2019 to March 2023, collaborating with Gallup on various research projects. Previous experiences include a fellowship at the Tow Center for Digital Journalism, an Associate Director role at the Pew Research Center managing research on public attitudes towards news and technology, and adjunct teaching positions at George Washington University. Jesse holds an MA in Media and Public Affairs from The George Washington University and a BA in Sociology and English from Gordon College.
