Sonia Joseph Joshi

Sonia Joseph Joshi is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in program management and stakeholder engagement within environmental and sustainability sectors. Currently serving as the Director of U.S. Programs at the Institute for Sustainable Communities since December 2020, Sonia has held various roles, including Associate Director and Senior Program Officer. Previously, Sonia worked at the University of Michigan School for Environment and Sustainability as the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Program Manager, where responsibilities included facilitating dialogues on social justice and developing educational resources. Sonia's career also encompasses roles at NOAA and Michigan Sea Grant, where expertise in outreach and research development was demonstrated. Sonia holds a Master of Science in Human Dimensions of Fisheries and Wildlife from Michigan State University and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Lake Superior State University, complemented by a leadership advancement program at Michigan State University.
