Matt Hobbs

Matt Hobbs is a Senior Systems Engineer at Werfen North America since March 2024, previously holding the same title at NuVasive from February 2021 to April 2024. At NuVasive, responsibilities included generating subsystem requirements for over fifty surgical instruments, driving cross-functional collaboration, and developing a Monte Carlo simulation to assess surgical navigation accuracy. Matt also led projects as a Project Engineer, significantly improving design and compliance processes, achieving cost savings, and implementing mentorship programs. Earlier experience includes serving as an R&D Engineer III at Applied Medical, where project leadership in minimally invasive devices resulted in substantial cost reductions and process improvements. Matt holds a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Riverside.
