Rui Lopes

Rui Lopes is an experienced data engineer with a strong background in building and managing data platforms across various industries. Currently serving as a Staff Data Engineer at InsurX since October 2024, Rui previously held the same position at Ably, where also worked as a Lead Data Engineer. Rui's expertise encompasses the development of analytics platforms using technologies such as Snowflake, Airflow, and DBT, as well as creating data warehouses and integrating third-party data at companies like Zego. Rui has experience implementing ETLs using Python and Google Cloud at Infectious Media and contributed to data quality initiatives at Worldpay. Rui holds an MSc in Geographic Information Systems for Business from the University of Leeds and a BSc in Geography and Territorial Planning from Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
