Alejandro Izquierdo

Deputy Director, Research Department, & Head Of Macro Group at Inter-American Development Bank

Alejandro Izquierdo is a seasoned economist with extensive experience in leading research initiatives at the Inter-American Development Bank since November 2001, currently serving as Deputy Director of the Research Department and Head of the Macro Group. Alejandro has held several key positions including Chief Economist, a.i., and Regional Economic Advisor for Mexico and Central America, as well as Principal Research Technical Leader and Principal Research Economist. Prior experience includes working as an Economist at The World Bank from 1999 to 2001. Alejandro holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Maryland, a Master’s degree in Macroeconomics from Instituto Torcuato Di Tella, and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Buenos Aires.
