Allan Young

Head, Airport Infrastructure at International Air Transport Association

Allan Young is an experienced professional in airport infrastructure and development, currently serving as the Head of Airport Infrastructure at the International Air Transport Association (IATA) since April 2014. In this role, Allan focuses on major airport development activities across Asia Pacific and North Asia, emphasizing cost-effective and capacity-enhancing solutions that align with the airline industry's needs. Prior to joining IATA, Allan held various leadership positions at Virgin Atlantic Airways, including Head of Airport Authorities Strategy & Relationships and Head of Airport Infrastructure, where key achievements included leading the redevelopment of Virgin's Terminal 3 facilities. Allan's earlier experience includes roles at BAA Plc as Procurement Category Manager and Supply Chain Manager. Allan holds a Master's degree in Economics and Economic History from the University of Glasgow.
