Miriam Aitken is an experienced professional specializing in conflict monitoring and research within the Middle Eastern and North African (MENA) contexts. Currently serving as an Early-Warning and Research Consultant for the International Crisis Group since June 2021, Aitken monitors conflict developments and enhances workflow efficiency for early-warning initiatives. Previous roles include a Research Intern at International Crisis Group and a Research Assistant at Sciences Po, where Aitken supported significant research projects related to forced migration and refugee governance. Aitken's leadership experience as President of the European Youth Parliament (EYP) Switzerland involved managing conferences and overseeing grant applications. Aitken's education includes a Master of Philosophy in Modern Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Oxford and a Master’s degree in Human Rights and Humanitarian Action from Sciences Po.
