Andrew Jewell has extensive experience in international economics and policy, currently serving as the Resident Representative for Georgia at the International Monetary Fund since 2010, and previously holding the same position for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Other roles at the International Monetary Fund include Senior Economist in various departments focusing on the European Union, Middle East, Central Asia, and strategy. Prior to this, Andrew Jewell worked at the U.S. Department of the Treasury as Deputy Director of the Office of Middle East and North Africa, Investment Negotiator, and Paris Club Negotiator, after starting as an International Economist at the Treasury. Earlier experience includes a role as Trader/Analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and a Software Engineer position at Systems Research and Applications Corporation. Academic qualifications include a Master’s Degree in International Relations from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, a Degree in Teaching French as a Second Language, a Degree in Business French from La Sorbonne, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from the University of Virginia.
