Balazs Csonto

Balazs Csonto is a seasoned economist with extensive experience at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) since 2009, currently serving as a Senior Economist in the African Department. Throughout tenure at the IMF, Balazs has held various roles, including positions in both the African Department and the Strategy, Policy, and Review Department, as well as the Western Hemisphere Department. Prior experience includes a role as an Economist at the European Investment Bank and a Macroeconomic Analyst at ING. Balazs holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and a Master's of Science (M.Sc.) in Economics from the University of Debrecen, as well as participation in the Erasmus Programme at Universität des Saarlandes.
