Stuart Hughes

Stuart Hughes has extensive experience in health and safety management across various sectors, currently serving as the Immediate Past President of IOSH since September 2019, after holding positions as President and Vice President. In the automotive industry, Stuart has been with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team since December 2015, where responsibilities include directing health and safety strategy to enhance performance. Prior roles include serving as Climate Change and Sustainability Assistant Manager at KPMG UK, managing health and safety across multiple industries, and Contract Support Manager for QHSE at Veolia Environmental Services UK, overseeing the health and safety of 750 staff. Earlier career experiences involve working as an Environmental Health Officer at both Westminster City Council and London Borough of Camden, handling complex case work and inspections. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Applied Science in Environmental Health, a NEBOSH degree in Occupational Safety and Health, and CFIOSH membership.
