Michael Motto

Michael Motto serves as a District Associate Judge for the Iowa Judicial Branch since October 2021, bringing extensive legal experience from prior roles as a Judicial Magistrate for the State of Iowa and Partner at the law firm Bush, Motto, Creen, Koury & Halligan, PLC, where involvement spanned litigation, personal injury, civil defense, criminal defense, family law, and estates and trusts. Michael's leadership included serving as President of the Scott County Bar Association from May 2013 to May 2014, and earlier legal training included a law clerk position at Ripes, Nelson, Baggot & Kalobratsos and a summer internship with the U.S. Department of State's International Visitors Program. Education includes a JD from Chicago-Kent College of Law and dual Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Government and French from the University of Iowa, complemented by studies in Russian language and internships in various international contexts.
