Kelly Sims

Kelly Sims is an experienced professional in trade marks, designs, and investment attraction, currently serving as the Registrar of Trade Marks and Designs at IP Australia since September 2021. In this role, Kelly performs statutory functions under the Trade Marks Act 1995 and Designs Act 2003, while also acting as General Manager of the Trade Marks and Designs Group. Previous roles include Head of Born Global at Austrade, where responsibilities involved delivering customised trade services for Australian exporters, and Trade and Investment Commissioner at the Australian Consulate-General in Europe. Kelly has a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion, exemplified by positions as Disability Executive Champion and LGBTIQ+ Global Executive Champion. Educational qualifications include a Master's in Management from The Australian National University and a Bachelor's in Environmental Science from the University of Wollongong, as well as awards such as the Austrade Australia Day Award for Diversity and Inclusion.
