Sergia Galván Ortega is an educator specializing in women’s studies and human rights in the Dominican Republic. She has been a leader of the feminist movement in Latin America and the Caribbean for more than 40 years. She was director of public policies and international affairs for the Ministry of Women in the Dominican Republic and a co-founder of the Network of Afro-Caribbean, Afro-Latin American and Diaspora Women. She also has served as executive director of the Colectiva Mujer y Salud and as a member of the board of directors of the Women’s Health Network of Latin America and the Caribbean.
